Last Shift is a top-down crazy taxi, GTA inspired arcade racing game.

Pick fares up off the kerb and get them across town before their clock runs out. Every drop-off buys back a little time on the meter, and the shift ends when it hits zero.

You can stack two fares at once (green and cyan) for a bonus if you land both but don't disappoint your passengers in the name of greed!

To earn score, perform drifts, collect score pickups and drop off passengers. Careful not to crash or fail to drop off a customer in time - both will hurt your score.

I wanted to explore 2D procedural generation in Godot with this project whilst still creating a game that was fun for five minutes. I think this objective meant both the PCG system and the game have some rough edges and could be deeper - was fun though!

An Island City Generated with the PCG System Developed this Weekend

Made for the GMTK 2026 jam (theme: Count Down), built in Godot.

I would love for you to play my other GMTK 2026 contributions:

How to play

Pick up fares and deliver them before their clock runs out. Each delivery adds time to your shift; when the shift clock hits zero, you're done. Chain and stack fares for a higher score.

  • Desktop: gas with W or up, brake and reverse with S or down, steer with A / D or the arrow keys, handbrake (drift) with Space.
  • Gamepad: gas RT or A, brake LT or B, steer with the stick or d-pad, handbrake with X.
  • Phone (landscape): on-screen GAS, BRAKE, steering and DRIFT pads.
